At the end of last week we received some sad news about our new pitch 'The Hut' at Ogmore-by-Sea.
We had been rushing around like mad-men trying to ensure that this website was up to date, the menus were fabulous (James is a perfectionist) and the second van was taken care of (Bertha was a special build so we knew it would take 12 weeks for them to recreate her). After weeks of waiting for the big 'GO' from the local authority, we thought we were finally there on Thursday until we saw some wording in a contract that didn't quite make sense.
A call into their offices set our minds at rest when we were told 'It must be a mistake' - only to be called back a few minutes later when they informed us (finally) of the extreme limitations of the pitch space we had paid for.
We had gone through our contracts with a fine tooth comb but the wording was very ambiguous and....... It's pretty easy to see what we sell from our name right?
We've consulted our legal eagles, we've tried to plea to the local authority but it looks like it's a no go for now. We would absolutely LOVE to be at Ogmore and feel it suits our business down to the ground but for now, our focus has to be trying to claim all our fees back so our small business doesn't suffer too much.
We would like to thank everyone for their massive interest in what we wanted to create with The Hut and for all your kind words to our sad news over on our Facebook page.
